In case you just upgraded to Windows 10 and found windows 10 start menu not working, here are some effective ways to help you fix it. Follow the steps below.

Note: Before you use the following methods, you must first create a system restore point, only for unwanted errors.

Step 1: Download Microsoft Start Menu Troubleshooter

One of the first things you need to do is to download and install the troubleshooter in the Microsoft Startup menu.

Obviously, Microsoft has recognized how this problem prevails, so technicians have a special program to help you deal with this problem.

It is checked that the Start menu and Cortana are correctly installed and that registry keys are permissions and database corruption, and more.

Step 2: Scan and repair corrupted Windows files

1) Right-click an empty space in the taskbar at the bottom of the desktop and select Task Manager.

2) Click File tab at the top of the Task Manager window, and then select Run New Task.

3) When you open the “Open New Task” window, enter PowerShell. Make sure that you made no mistakes.

Then, check the check box to create this task with administrative rights. Click OK.

4) Type sfc / scannow in the window, make sure you entered the error, and press Enter.

Allow time for the entire process to complete. If the result you see is the same as the next, it means that there are no corrupt files.

But if you see the following notification: Windows Resource Protection found the files corrupted, but it failed to fix some (or all).

You must type the following command in the PowerShell window: DISM / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth. Make sure you entered the error and press Enter.

This allows Windows to download Windows update files to replace those corrupted. However, it may take time to wait patiently.

Step 3: Create a new account

1) Right-click the taskbar on the desktop below and select Task Manager.

2) Click the File option at the top of the Task Manager window, and then select Run New Task.

3) When you open the “Open New Task” window, enter powershell. Make sure you have made no mistakes.

Then, check the check box to create this task with administrative rights. Press OK to continue.

4) In the PowerShell window, input the following command:

NewUser NewPassword / Add user

Make sure you entered no error and press Enter.

For example, we use users ‘solution’ and ‘asksolution’ as password, you must have a username and password.

Do not use spaces and pay attention to the uppercase letters.

5) Restart your computer and log in to your new account. You should now be able to switch the new local account to a Microsoft account and submit your files and settings from your start menu.

Step 4: Update your computer
